Functional richness

Signs Discovery records each sign in video form, the only media capable of capturing the full wealth of information contained in a sign.

Rich functionality

Signs Discovery has a semantic network that records the language reference, synonyms (different gestures) and copies (same gesture, different people) of each sign in the form of videos, a description of your choice (drawing, diagram) and a hand configuration as well. And for each meaning, a reference to the written language, one or several words, a pictogram, an illustration and the pronunciation (for illiterate listeners). A sign is linked to one or more meanings and a meaning is linked to one or more signs.

Signs Discovery also records sequences of signs (sign language sentences).

All knowledge and signs are classified according to 1/ a thematic mapping (comparable to a library) and 2/ a difficulty level; both are configurable.

Adaptability

In reading, the speed of the videos can be adjusted (x1, x0.5, x0.3) to allow learners to read the sign in its various stages of complexity; this is very useful for sentences in sign language.

Pedagogical features

Signs Discovery offers learning functions such as lessons, tests, training and a writing module. Learners’ attendance and performance are automatically tracked for each of their actions. This information enables the teaching team to monitor their progress and is available in the form of Excel tables that can be used for a personalised dashboard.

Signs Discovery has been developed and is maintained by a software house.

Signs Discovery is able to operate with local networks, wifi and 3G/4G/5G (PC, Mac, tablets and the dictionary with mobile phone).
